The septum piercing goes through the soft tissue just below the cartilage — the "sweet spot" called the columella. Done correctly, it barely touches cartilage, heals quickly, and can be flipped up inside the nose to be completely invisible. Done wrong (through cartilage), it's painful, slow-healing, and crooked.
Our piercers find the sweet spot every time. We palpate the tissue, confirm placement, and pierce only when we've confirmed we're in the right location. The difference is immediately obvious when you compare our septum piercings to others.
